BEST OF CBB WITH A COMMUNITY OF LIKE-MINDED READERS

Another year has come and gone and as we head into 2020 I wanted to review the best of 2019 on Canadian Budget Binder.

First off, I want to thank every one of you for subscribing to this blog.

Im humbled to have you all here along for the ride so we can work through this fascinating world of Golden Finance together.

Eight Years Of Finance

Canadian Budget Binder will soon be celebrating 8 years of Food and Finance on the web and is my pride and joy.

Why? Because I get to share our non-perfect life of pitfalls and successes with all of you to show you money is not easy for us.

This May will be our sixth anniversary of becoming debt-free and paying off our mortgage by age 40.

Its hard to believe but looking back at the frugal lifestyle we lived and current spending habits, not much has changed.

Youll notice personal choices have changed such as Mrs. CBB living a Keto lifestyle to increased expenses in our budget.

Oh, and we added a child to our family along the way which came with even more costs.

Personal Finance Is Forever

Just because you are debt-free doesnt mean the budgeting process ends.

Part of the process of finance means you have to understand your boundaries and prepare for the unknown.

This is the only way you can stay ahead of the game and it is just that, a game were playing until the end.

This means we all have something valuable to offer the table and we learn from each other.

Its part of financial education and how others success can breathe new life into your resolutions.

The best of everything means hard work and dedication and thats my motto, even for this blog.

Ive worked on making Canadian Budget Binder one of the best Canadian Finance and Food blogs on the web.

Finance Feeds You Food

Sometimes people might wonder why I have recipes on the blog, well we all have to eat right?

Food isnt free, correct?

So, yes Canadian Budget Binder incorporates all things Finance related to home life.

Personal Finance = Personal Opinions

Im fortunate to have AMAZING readership on this blog and fans who have been here since my humble beginnings.

Sure, we may not all agree with my perspectives but were open to personal opinions which is why its called personal finance.

I dont mind hearing that someone doesnt agree with me as long as they kindly share their opinion.

My advice, keep an open mind always and listen (or in this case, read).

Take personal finance with a grain of salt but remember learning about how to manage your money is a process.

If you want to be successful in reaching the next step in the process you MUST do your homework.

You Have To Work To Build

In 2019, survey results by insolvency firm MNP suggested that 47% of Canadians were drowning in debt and struggled to cover their costs.

A slightly greater proportion (48 per cent) of respondents said they have less than $200 remaining at the end of the month after covering living expenses and debt payments.

It doesnt stop there.

Knowing and doing are two different entities and if you dont execute the doing part all you gain is basic knowledge.

You can compare it to going to school and getting a degree in, lets say, accounting.

Getting your diploma is fine and dandy but unless you refine what youve learned hands-on youve got a piece of paper.

The same goes for a marriage. Catch my drift. You have to work to build.

Asking questions, participating and thinking outside the box will get you where you need to go.

Simple Budgeting And Good Food

I wont tell you how to invest your money as Im not an investor (I have a financial advisor).

This blog is about everyday people who want to live a comfortable life and end it just as cozy.

Youll find that I write about all facets of life on Canadian Budget Binder because money affects everything.

For example, If you want to buy your first house you need to save for a down-payment but dont know where to start.

Scroll through the blog categories on the right side-bar or at the end of this post if you are on a mobile phone.

There you will see the blog topics I will write about throughout the year.

Real.Life.Stories.

I often ask readers to share their anonymous stories on the blog and they can be some of the most powerful blog posts.

Why? Perspective and experience and way to express what they cant behind closed doors.

Building A Successful Blogging Business

The 2019 year has been a success for this once tiny blog and I hope to share more about its success in 2020.

I want all of you to know that blogging is more than just writing and clicking publish.

Compiling a blog post takes hours behind the scenes and incorporates many facets that are unknown to people who arent familiar with monetized blogging.

This blog does not come for free and has plenty of business costs which increase every year and the money has to come from somewhere.

Please know that youre a part of a community I care about passionately because helping one person is better than helping nobody at all.

For those of you inspiring to start a blog, Id be happy to talk about the steps I took to get CBB where it is today.

Just let me know in the comments below if you have any questions about blogging youd like answered.
