Lucite furniture is the ultimate in foxy interior design. The golden era of lucite was in the Holywood Regency Era in the 1930s and 1940s, but lucite made a strong comeback in the Glam Disco Era of the 1970s. Lucite is very sought after and pricey, a new lucite coffee table can cost upward of 2,000 Dollars. I love lucite so much and really wanted some of those glamorous elements in my home design, but I did not want the price tag. I managed to find this fabulous DIY on Youtube explaining how to make DIT Clear End tables out of affordable acrylic pieces and I could not wait to start on these fabulous tables. I quickly gathered my materials together.
Materials:
- Gold Gift Boxes (from Dollar Tree)
- 5 Corner Guards (from Home Depot) (4 pieces for the 1st project and 1 for the 2nd project)
- Screws
- 4 Packs of Corner Braces (from Walmart 3 for 1st project and 1 pack for the 2nd project)
- 3 Clear Photo Frames
- Foam Board
- 4 Easels
- Turn Table
- 10 Inch Round Mirror
- Screw Cutter
- Drill
- Glue Gun
- Glue Sticks
Directions:
Cut your 4 foot long corner guards in half with scissors or a band saw. You will have 4 (2 Foot long) sections to work with.
Then install your corner brackets with screws and a drill.
Then glue your shelves in with your trusty hot glue gun and secure with a binder clip.
Then you just continue to follow these simple instructions in the video, the results are truly amazing, these tables look so expensive and they only took a small amount of money to make.
