Whether you follow a keto lifestyle or not, these Cheesy Cauliflower Pizza Balls are Bomb.
If you look in our freezer, you will find a massive bag of cauliflower rice that we buy at Costco.

We buy it prepared over fresh cauliflower because we can use it at our convenience.
When you buy fresh cauliflower, you have to use it before it starts to go off.
The price for the riced cauliflower is reasonable and will save you time.
Today, let’s talk about making keto cauliflower pizza balls and how they are the perfect appetizer.
Testing Our Keto Cauliflower Pizza Balls
We include easy keto appetizers every time we have friends but don’t tell them.
I know we are cheeky that way and like to hear their feedback after we let them know.
We like to use friends and family as guinea pigs for our recipes before sharing them with you.
I wasn’t sure what I’d think about them as I made them for Mrs. CBB, so they are gluten-free.
One of my questions was whether they would be better baked or deep-fried?
We all know that anything deep-fried is awesome but did we really need to add the extra oil?
Probably not because we wanted to keep the pizza balls a clean keto recipe without all the extras.
Baked Keto Cauliflower Pizza Balls
We chose to bake the cauliflower pizza balls only because we felt that they would have less grease.
The point of living a keto lifestyle is to have good fats, but you don’t need to go overboard.
When your body is in ketosis, it uses the fat you already have to help you lose weight.
Getting rid of what you already have will take time if you start adding too much fat in ketosis.
We’re not doctors, but from Mrs. CBB’s experience of losing over 100lbs on the keto diet, this is what happens with her.
(If you’d like her to write a piece about her journey, leave me a comment below)
There’s so much information about Keto on the web that we listen to the top doctors, such as Dr. Jason Fung, the author of The Obesity Code.
Reading his book has inspired us to eat less and incorporate fasting into our daily feeding routine.
Both of us often eat one meal a day (OMAD); however, it’s the snacking that keeps walloping us.
We both like these pizza balls because they are convenient and good hot or cold.
Instead of reaching for a handful of keto nuts, but we always eat too many, we prepare keto snacks in advance.
There are tonnes of keto fat bomb recipes, but we don’t make them often because we don’t need them.
It’s all a mind game and if you are serious about losing weight or on a keto diet, count your macros.
Cauliflower Rice
If you look in our freezer, you will find a massive bag of cauliflower rice that we buy at Costco.
Ever since we made Mexican Taco Cauliflower Rice, I was hooked and didn’t miss the rice at all.

We buy it prepared over fresh cauliflower because we can use it at our convenience.
When you buy fresh cauliflower, you have to use it before it starts to go off.
Also, for some reason, when we process a whole cauliflower to freeze, it never tastes the same.
I’m guessing because the manufacturer flash freezes the cauliflower rice where we do not.
The price for the riced cauliflower is reasonable and will save you time.
Plus, the coolest part is that the cauliflower rice comes in four individual packages in a massive bag.
Cheeses Used In Cauliflowers Pizza Balls
Cheese is a major staple in the keto diet, and we always have it in our refrigerator and freezer.
Yes, you can freeze cheese, even cream cheese, and when we find a deal, we’ll load up.
We buy some of our favourite cheese and what we use in the pizza balls below.
One tip is never to buy cheese pre-shredded in a bag, as they use an ingredient that includes carbs to keep it fresh.
Buy yourself a four-sided grater and shred all of your cheese and freeze or shred it as you need it.
If you EVER see a bit of mould on cheese, just cut the piece off and throw it in the bin.
The cheese is fine, so don’t waste your money thinking it’s not good.
Cheese is meant to go mouldy, so don’t be afraid.
Our Favourite Cheeses
What kinds of cheese do you like to buy? Comment below and let us know.
- Salerno Mozzarella from Costco in a big block $23.99 and used in making fat head dough recipes such as pizza crust, keto bagels, pretzels, cheesy bread sticks etc.
- Fruilano Cheese from Zehrs $10
- Feta Cheese from Costco
- Parmigiano Regianno from Costco
- Cream Cheese wherever it’s on sale (recently we found them for $1.00 so we bought 10)
- Provolone Cheese (only buy if it’s reduced at Zehrs)
- Old Cheddar Cheese is our favourite but there are others such as marble, medium cheese, mild cheese etc.
- Ricotta container from Costco Canada (Yes, you can stuff the pizza balls with ricotta.)
- Halloumi Cheese
- Bocconcini Mini Cheeseballs
Spices To Boost Flavour
We kept the spices for the pizza balls traditional, as you might find in an Italian pizzeria.
You’ll need dry oregano, parsley and basil to add to your cauliflower rice, eggs, salt and pepper.
Our spice cabinet is full of spices in 500ml mason jars and labelled, so they are easy to find.
Ideas For Dipping Cheesy Pizza Balls
You could use so many dips to dip the pizza balls in, and my favourite is pizza sauce, ranch and bacon ranch.
I’ve also made baconnaise mayo, guacamole or a layered taco dip, all of which are delicious.
What would be your favourite dip for the keto cauliflower pizza balls? Comment below and let me know.

- Chunks of your favourite cheese to put in the middle of each pizza ball
- Franks Red Hot Sauce (optional)

How To Make Keto Cauliflower Pizza Balls
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees
- In a large bowl put all of the ingredients (apart from your chunks of cheese) into a bowl and mix it up. We used both crumble bacon and pepperoni chips.
- Once combined using a cookie scoop or your hands roll each scoop into a ball and place on a parchment lined baking sheet
- One by one pick up a pizza ball and make an indent in the middle where you will put your chunk of cheese (we used mozzarella) and some (Franks Red Hot sauce) followed by rolling it into a ball again.
- Place it back on the baking sheet and once they are all done brush each one with melted butter.
- Bake them until they are golden brown and then remove them from oven.
- Place them on a decorative platter or plate with your favourite dip in a small bowl and serve hot or cold.
Typically we would get around 15 cauliflower pizza balls depending on whether we scoop them even or not.
Note: If you want to dee-fry or shallow fry them, you can also do that in extra-virgin olive oil or avocado oil.
