3-Ingredient Smoked Spiral Ham

I love me a good ham! It reminds me of the holidays, you get so many uses out of it and can enjoy it hot or cold. This recipe has been perfected and now, not one holiday goes by where my ham isn’t present. It’s time to whip out your crockpot, 3 ingredients, and have fun preparing this ham 💞

Ingredients

  • 7-8lb. Smoked Spiral Ham
  • 1/2 cup of pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 cups of orange juice
  • Yellow mustard (optional)

For this recipe, all you need is time; run errands, get a manicure, just turn the crockpot on and let it cook 🙌🏽

How To Make:

Step 1: Place your ham cut-side down into the crockpot 🐷

Step 2: Pour the orange juice around the sides of the ham 🍊

This will ensure any droppings will collect in the OJ for more flavor.

Step 3: Add the maple syrup 🍁

Step 4: Add the brown sugar. Rub it into the ham using the syrup as a binder.

Step 5: Set the crockpot to slow cook > low > 4 hours ⏲️

Step 6: Once the timer goes off, the ham is ready to be dressed and enjoyed OR see additional step below 🐷

Step 7 (optional): Cut the ham in half (horizontal) so that you’re left with two pieces (hind leg & thigh). This may be a bit difficult with a bone-in cut; be patient 😌 Place the slices in a oven-safe pan and cook for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Keep the hind leg half in the crock pot and cook for an additional 4 hours on low. This creates a ham hock like texture, which I love!

Hind leg cut to cook for an add’l. 4 hrs.
Thigh slices to bake for an add’l 15 mins.

Enjoy! When it’s hot out of the oven, I love serving it with a carb and vegetable. On New Years Day, we enjoyed it with spinach & mashed potatoes.
