Another week of The Real Housewives of Potomac! We are blessed to be living at the same time as this pop culture moment. These women bring is GOLD every single week. This is no exception.
Mia Thornton’s gearing up for lunch with her mother. Their relationship is tumultuous at best, so it has to be stressful. These two have spent years in a bad place. However, right now her mother is on the straight and narrow.
Mia’s nervous to meet with her mother because of the possibility of a relapse. If she says the wrong thing, it could trigger a downward spiral. She doesn’t want to be responsible if things go south like that.
Eddie Osefo & Wendy Osefo have an (absolutely not staged) conversation about her trip to Williamsburg. Wendy finds it ironic that they person with the worst marriage would come to her with the rumors. Does her less than stellar marriage actually make Ashley Darby the perfect fit? She knows what it’s like to be in the hot seat more than everyone. She also might mean Gizelle Bryant, but the same thought applies.
Wendy & Eddie give us the hard sell about the hardships they went through to get married. They’re going out of their way to sell us on some epic love story. Do you girl, but we see through the bs. From the moment she cheated on the game at Karen Huger’s love party, things looked “off”.
Robyn Dixon & Gizelle are still thriving with their podcast endeavor. They have an actual deal now, so people are paying to listen to them spout off their mess. The episode they’re discussing is about relationships which is a topic better suited for other women.
Gizelle & Robyn talking about men who cheat is laughable. If anyone wants advice on the subject, do the opposite of whatever the green-eyed bandits tell you. They’re both stuck in cycles of misery with men who continuously wrong them.
Gizelle slips up and makes a comment about wishing she knew statistics on cheating two years ago. Do the math. She was dating Jamal Bryant at the time. This is Gizelle confirming the rumors. This woman was embarrassed on a national scale, and she knows it. The binder had lasting impact.
Robyn’s not surprised about Jamal & Gizelle’s breakup. She never saw them together. This man truly lived in Gizelle’s phone. Facetime was the only method of real bonding between them.
Robyn discusses crying herself to sleep over Juan Dixon cheating on her in the past. What does she think is going to go differently this time? You know what they say about a leopard and their spots.
Gizelle low key mentions her issue with Wendy on the podcast. She stands by her statement that she meant no harm to Wendy. She really wants everyone to believe there was no shade or ill will behind her actions. If that was the case, why bring it up on camera at all? Gizelle knew exactly what she was doing.
Candiace Dillard Bassett has a lot on her plate. She’s pursuing her Masters, filming the show, making new music, and shooting videos for them. That’s a lot to take on at once. For now, she’s finding a way to juggle it all though.
Candiace fills in Chris Bassett about the dance off with the other women. They needed that fun. Everything was starting to feel a bit toxic prior to that point. However, Gizelle’s messy behavior stuck with Candiace.
Chris laughs after learning Gizelle saying he might be riding on Candiace’s coattails. She has a scorned view of relationships. Worry about yourself Gizelle. Why is she constantly making nasty comments about everyone’s relationship?
Candiace refuses to believe Ashley had any good intentions on the trip. She thinks Ashley was gleeful about the chaos she caused. Despite everyone’s claims about Ashley having changed, Candiace finds her just as messy. Nothing has changed one bit in her eyes.
The new baby isn’t latching on to a bottle. This is forcing Ashley to be feeding Dylan at all hours. Selfish Michael Darby is turning this into drama because he’s not getting attention. This man will never change. He always finds a way to be the shittiest husband that ever existed.
The consultant they meet with about Dylan gives them lots of tips on how to fix it. She does some bizarre massage magic to fix the baby. Evidently now he will find it easier to latch onto the bottle.
Michael’s making all of this about sex and a lack of intimacy. I understand he has needs, but damn it he’s the grossest man. He tries to explain why he finds Ashley attractive still, but it still doesn’t feel right.
Robyn opens up to her son about her recent struggles with productivity. She wants to speak to a life coach to help get everything together. She’s not in a good head space about the state of their life. It’s not a good look for her, but she wants to make things right. She wants to do better.
Robyn’s getting the life coach for herself as a birthday present. This is more for people who are in a good head space but need a push in the right direction. For now, Robyn thinks that’s more of what she needs.
Mia meets with her mother for lunch, and the feeling overall seems to be excitement. Well, for about two seconds that was the feeling. It’s more of an anxious feeling once it actually starts going.
Mia wants to understand why there’s a disconnect between she and her mother. There’s so much she wants to ask. However, how do you even begin to start with this? There’s such a loaded and sorted history between these two.
Mia wants to know what her dad did. Her mother doesn’t want to go down that rabbit hole though. This man introduced her to drugs which ended up costing her so much in her life. There’s so much pain because of the negligence on the part of both parents.
The night Mia was burned, her father was in the basement with another woman. He wasn’t himself in that moment, and it left permanent damage on Mia’s body. Her mother even attempted suicide over her father. This is a family with so much pain in their past and so much healing needed for their future. On the bright side, Mia wants to meet with her more often and build a better relationship.
We’re less than two months away from the Huger vow renewal. She invites Wendy & Mia to go dress shopping with her for the event. Nobody is buying the friendship between Wendy & Karen, right? It feels so forced and created out of necessity.
Mia doesn’t think it was fair what happened to Wendy on the trip. It probably should’ve been handled differently. However, it wasn’t, so let’s move on.
The dress shop is the venue for the event itself? That’s so weird. Not only is that a poor choice, but so are most of the dress selections from Karen. UGLY AS HELL.
Mia relays to Wendy & Karen that they aren’t on the guest list for Robyn’s birthday party. It’s been planned by Gizelle, so it shouldn’t come as a shock. Karen delivers a message to Gizelle through Mia. She wants Gizelle to apologize for wishing death on Ray Huger. SHE NEVER DID THAT. Karen, girl, I love you, but NO.
The pressure’s mounting for Candiace as it gets closer to her music video. There’s so much at stake. If she doesn’t get it right, there’s a lot of money to lose.
Candiace is concerned about what will happen if something goes wrong and Chris isn’t there. He has a cooking class to attend, so she’s on her own. Chris isn’t available to support her. However, shouldn’t his career be equally important?
Chris doesn’t know what to do. They spar a little bit over his lack of attendance. If she’s already pissed off, I’m not sure why he thought it was a wise choice to play golf. He’s doing it all for free though, so she should give him a break. He might be overworked doing everything with no compensation. She’s not acting very appreciative.
Three hours later, all of the women are meeting up for Robyn’s birthday. Well, not everyone. Karen & Wendy are still excluded from the event. Don’t worry though. Mia and her fake stripper ass is still there. FUN!
Candiace calls out Gizelle for excluding Wendy & Karen. Gizelle hasn’t heard from Wendy, so everything is off the table. Until Wendy puts in the work, Gizelle’s not going to give her the time of day. Well damn.
Robyn feels like her and Wendy talked through their issues, it still feels unresolved. Wendy was quick to dismiss Robyn’s relationship with Juan. It’s hard to move on quick from that. Plus, nobody wants to spend their birthday feeling uncomfortable. It’s best for her to stay at home.
Candiace calls Ashley a hoe for causing the mess on the trip. She tells Ashley she brought her “wide bodied ass” to ruin everything. Gizelle tries to call a time out, but it’s full-fledged chaos. It’s past the point of no return.
