STEM can level up and it must begin to include underrepresented communities of women and minorities. Summer is a great time to learn how to do that as you prepare for fall and back to school. Fortunately, TGR Foundation and Discovery Education are partnering to help STEM teachers reach a more diverse group of learners and generate student interest in STEM.

The new (Re)Defining STEM learning module from TGR Foundation and Discovery Education is the first of several courses to support educators to integrate STEM in new and powerful ways. Every STEM educator should take a look at these resources and integrate them into their blended or online learning environment.

We’ll also learn how to keep up to date with what is happening with TGR Foundation and Discovery Education as they release excellent free STEM resources for educators. You’ll want to share this with your STEM colleagues.

The Discovery Education network is well known to many of us educators for their engaging, positive educational resources. Responding to the COVID-19 age, TGR Foundation and Discovery Education introduce the first module in a new series of no-cost digital professional learning resources, empowering educators with new strategies to support student success far beyond school campuses.
The professional development on TGR Edu: Explore provides everyone, especially those from under-resourced communities, the access and materials needed to transform teaching during COVID-19 and beyond.
Who is TGR Foundation?
TGR Foundation, A Tiger Woods Charity, is unwaveringly focused on empowering students to pursue their passions through education. They encourage self-advocacy skills and foster a growth mindset through their award-winning STEM curricula, college-access programs, along with a digital platform for educator professional learning.
Free Resources to Help Students
As you look at the free STEM resources available to integrate into your classroom, you’ll find lots of engaging ways to help students learn STEM subjects that you can integrate into your instruction.
What’s Next?
There are many things we don’t know about the fall, but one thing we do know: a talented, energetic teacher who has a toolset of engaging resources to help kids will thrive as they meet the challenges they face to engage students.
We also know that we have to engage all learners and turn the tide of STEM as we engage all groups of people including minorities and women in these fields which are a key part of our future.
This resource can help you not only learn the techniques you need, but give you access to many valuable tools and resources to use with your students. I hope you have lots of rest this summer but I encourage you to make time for these modules in your summer learning.
